Liceul Teoretic "William Shakespeare"
Our school was founded in 1992 as a result of the merging between School Nr. 13 and The English School.
Even if it is a rather "young" school, our William Shakespeare High School can take great pride in its students and teachers. This institution is a bilingual High School (Romanian and English), made up of two Departments ( Natural Sciences and Social Sciences). William Shakespeare has two levels of study: a Secondary School or "Lyceum" (Rom. "Liceu") and the so-called "Gymnasium", e.g. all forms from the 1st to 8th form). Three of these forms benefit from an intensive English course and a fourth grade enjoys an intensive German course for native speakers (DaM).
Having a modern Computer Room and various laboratories, our school offers its students a wide range of Optional Courses (Age Psychology, Molecular Genetics, History of Religion, Art and Philosophy History, Foreign Languages, Roman History and Civilisation, CAE, DALF and ÖSD/DaF-Examinations Training). Our school offers a thorough education which allows its students to apply for various international scholarships and grants (Canada, Norway, the UK , Germany and the USA).
Another great feature of our school is related to the numerous School Clubs, the School's own Theater Group and the various school projects which ensure our students an ongoing contact with foreign students (Projects: Socrates, Siemens, Spring-Day, SEEYLI- South Eastern Europe Youth Leadership Institute- ). A Student Exchange Programme between William Shakespeare High School and another school from Bad-Tölz (Germany) has also been accomplished a few years ago.
William Shakespeare High is a school open minded school with a European mentality. We are constantly promoting all forms of international cooperation and we invite all schools which share the same interests to participate and cooperate with us in the following projects (in English, French and/or German):
